>Eurovision 2008: The 2nd Hikaruland Post-Show

>Honestly, could we please do a switch between the hosts? I don’t think I can hack Z&J (who are unintentionally coming across as Boris & Natasha) for one more show.

That said, congrats Portugal, Turkey, and Ukraine, now will one of you (or France, Spain, or the UK) please ensure that Dimaland doesn’t win this.

All that and more in the medicated craziness that is the 2nd ESC 2008 Post-Show.

PS> Bulgaria & Malta got screwed. Switzerland…not so much. (Did they think it was 1980?)

    >You mean mongols? ;)But yeah Z&J are very bad, but now that Bane and whatshername went ballistic in the green room, maybe it’s best with someone more calm after all.. Besides, so nice to see Zeljko being non-PC letting the girl struggle with the envelopes and only being handed his when he was good and ready. Also impressive to have hosted, sung and written for Eurovision, can’t be that many who done all 3. His ‘Lane Moje’ is still one of the all time best ESC numbers imo and I’m a fan.But why not Albania? I absolutely adore the song: sincere, powerful and haunting but maybe this only makes sense to Europeans, especially for Eastern Europeans although I’m not. I liked last year’s song from there too. I would anyway say Albania is coming up as the ESC country with soul and I guess many feel the same way.But we agree that Turkey is good, really interesting song and the guy’s got poise. My third favorite, but will struggle to win because of some dull parts. And good riddance to Switzerland. That this Italian smoothie was announced a favorite in Belgrade just only goes to show how terribly old-fashioned the ESC commentators and crowd are. Why did they think Italy dropped out in the first place? But I think we’re going to Reykjavik next year. (or Sweden god forbid, can we really have a porn star look-alike win it?) The Icelandic song is an absolute killer and they have great voices and can sing like anyone. (the girl’s voice on entry is simply stunning, I get chills) Lyrics are also top notch as pop songs go and the sound production is world class.. (Btw, check out their updated preview video if you haven’t seen it, it’s very good) Kudos to the small country for their quality work, amazing how they do it every year when you think they’re only 300 000+ people in the whole country. How many blocks is that in New York City? All Nordic countries to the final is a point of note. People complain that the Eastern Europeans vote for each other, but historically the Nordic countries and especially the Scandinavians are maybe the worst, just watch. This time they all have top songs though and a likely winner too except Finland and Denmark.
