    >i have no idea what the solution is, but partial government ownership of banks seems like it might work. i don’t understand the resistance to this approach — other than it being a knee-jerk reaction to government ownership of businesses.

    >Buying banks would help, but the most important thing is to help people pay their mortgages. The only cure is to turn a lot of the bad mortgage paper into good mortgage paper.
